??斷句是同聲傳譯技巧中最基本的技巧，是所有技巧的基礎(chǔ)。一段話應(yīng)該斷在何處、斷句之后又如何把句子的各個(gè)部分有機(jī)地連接起來(lái)，是斷句技巧的關(guān)鍵所在。那么如何斷句呢，這就需要譯員經(jīng)過(guò)大量練習(xí)，熟悉兩種語(yǔ)言的異同之處，并逐漸擺脫原句結(jié)構(gòu)和表達(dá)方式的影響，然后譯員才能靈活地調(diào)動(dòng)如語(yǔ)氣、手勢(shì)、語(yǔ)調(diào)、如語(yǔ)氣等諸多技巧以求達(dá)意。

??“適時(shí)等待”就是指在不適合斷句的時(shí)候，譯員為了使譯出的句子準(zhǔn)確連貫，適時(shí)放慢速度，等發(fā)言人講出較為完整的意思后接著翻譯。這種“等待”就需要譯員具有工作記憶力，一般工作記憶力的時(shí)效非常有限，因此譯員等待的時(shí)間不宜過(guò)久，所以在該斷時(shí)就要“當(dāng)機(jī)立斷”。不做出準(zhǔn)確地判斷而等待過(guò)久常常會(huì)使記憶負(fù)擔(dān)過(guò)重，最后導(dǎo)致漏譯等問(wèn)題的出現(xiàn)。
